Massachusetts Geographic Information System (Mass.GIS)
Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program
With funding made available by the Executive Office of Environmental Affairs,
the Natural Heritage Program developed the BioMap to identify the areas most in need of protection
in order to protect the native biodiversity of the Commonwealth. BioMap focuses primarily on state-listed
rare species and exemplary natural communities but also includes the full breadth of the State's biological diversity.
